Rocking up on a winters night with crystal clear skies is a pretty nice feeling. On this particular evening I arrived early to soak up the atmosphere as day became night. There were folks scattered along the wharf making the most of the crisp conditions - including one person with the worlds brightest torch fishing down the pier. Uawa is a magical place - located on the East Cape of New Zealand in the Tairāwhiti Gisborne region.
