He hovered over me one night when the world's chaos was wrenching my heart and soul. An imposing figure draped in robes adorned with patterns of the universe and darker than the heart of the night itself, I heard, or maybe I felt, his desire to take away my pain. I tried to search his face but beneath the deep hood, there was nothing but darkness. I couldn't be sure if he was an angel or something worse. I consented to his offer but I don't know now if that would have mattered. He floated towards me and the air seemed to shimmer and ripple as he wrapped me in his robe. I instantly felt my pain and suffering for the people of the world melt away. All the pain, the suffering and every remembrance of sadness disappeared. I felt a sense of relief as the awful thoughts and memories melted away. As I was relishing this peace I saw new memories surface. Memories of the joy I had felt. He was taking too much, he was taking it all !
