This is an animated version of an original physical painting. This art piece is trying to illustrate the struggles of a rebellious young woman growing up in a very traditional society and the resilience she learned from the powerful women before her.

The artist was inspired by the traditional form of Persian painting called “Persian Miniature” to show the struggle of a modern Persian woman (in this case, herself) with some aspects of a conservative society.

Some of the miniatures in this painting are pointing at her, representing the more judgmental aspect of culture, but there is a female miniature sitting in a window frame (the shape of a feminist symbol) looking at her with a smile while smoking Hookah representing all the rebellious women who came before our time and paved the way for today’s non-conformists.
