BirdKeeper Secret Society was a group of women that was founded in the early 1800's of women who shared a common passion for collecting and breeding exotic bird species. These women were known as "BirdKeepers" and were often from affluent backgrounds, as the hobby of bird keeping required financial resources to obtain and care for rare and exotic birds.
Members of the BirdKeeper Secret Society were avid collectors of exotic bird species from around the world. They would often travel to distant lands to acquire rare and unique birds, and then carefully breed and raise them in their own aviaries. These women were pioneers in aviculture, the practice of keeping and breeding birds in captivity, and made significant contributions to the understanding of bird behavior, biology, and conservation during a time when such knowledge was limited.
