In the small town called Hope's End, life was quiet and uneventful. But all of that changed one night when an UFO appeared in the sky above the town.

Ten-year-old Joey was playing chess by himself when he heard that his father got lost after that encounter in the town that they live in. But as the night wore on, Joey's grief turned to deep curiosity. He was determined to find out what had happened to his father and find out who was responsible for his end. He began to investigate on his own, using his knowledge of the town and its people to gather information. He used his power and influence to keep Hope's End safe and to protect its citizens. While he knew that he would never be able to bring his father back, he took comfort in the fact that he had been able to make a difference in his town and in the lives of the people he cared about with his family.
