Saint Jerome exiles himself to the desert as a form of penitence, seeking redemption.
Kneeling under the cross, he hits his chest with a rock. In his madness he has a vision: the Virgin Mary, accompanied by angels, extending her hand to him. That was his salvation, the end of his penance and a new opportunity.

You look back and feel guilt, shame and regret contemplating your mistakes, punishing yourself.
You kneel and ask for forgiveness for having done harm. For having hurt yourself. You accept.

The word as your spearhead. This is your penance & redemption. You have carried a heavy cross for a long time, it’s time to change through actions.
