The old bridge of Dezpol is the most important historical work of Dezful. This bridge, which connects the two eastern and western regions of Dezful, was actually one of the roads connecting Jundi Shapur region and Mesopotamia, which was built by the order of Shapur I after the victory over Valerian and using Roman prisoners. Bakhtiari soil and the final basin of Dez water, the interesting city of Dezful is located (Dezpol). This name is due to the nearby magnificent bridge, which undoubtedly belongs to the Sassanid period. The lower part of this bridge is made of stone, and the upper part, which is made of brick, seems to be older. It is 430 yards long and has twenty-two arches of different shapes and sizes.
