The Phantom Smoke Flower was a hallucinogenic plant. It had the ability to produce its own smoke which served as a deterrent - the smoke reduced predators' ability to see and, as a psychoactive smoke, lulled predators into a daze.

Humans discovered that through microdosing, the properties of the flower provided therapeutic benefits and a unique ability to help people release the burden of unwarranted shame.

Although illegal to cultivate, they were traded for high-demand home use. In order to smoke the flower, the user needed to rub the petals, though with each touch the plant would become weaker.

The plant was discovered in 2047 by meta-explorer, Lucy Fernando. Due to its wide scale use and trade, authorities carried out a mass operation to infect all strains of the plant via a meta-deployed virus. It is commemorated by Fernando’s short poem she wrote upon discovering it, arguably after inhaling it’s smoke:
