Being cool, sociable and good at talking to people has never been a strong point of me. I've always been happier hanging out with myself. With social media, that generally does not work. They point is to be social.
So when I graduated high school, I made it a point to teach myself how to be social and engaging. It has been a big struggle for me, and still is, but I've managed to gain some skills. I often felt like I'm being fake by trying to learn these social skills, like I'm just acting. I think it's a common pitfall for many people. But thinking back now, I never tried to be anyone else. Instead, I just unlocked hidden compartments of myself and learned how to convey my thoughts and quirks in a way others would understand. I still enjoy being alone a lot.
