Surviving to be free
Is not an uncommon theme to me
I face my fears daily
And have the strength
to make you see
This perspective you have
Has been taught from the past
The narrow minded thinking
Will never last
I speak to you now
So I can be heard
I have survived death
And deliver my word
Spoken to you from my heart
That is NOT still
And is still beating
Despite all of my will
