YAMA or YAMRAJ, the Hindu god of death and justice, is responsible for the dispensation of law and punishment of sinners in his abode, Yamaloka.
The Vedas describe him as the first man who died,
blazing the path of mortality down which all
humans have since followed.
In modern times, Yama has been depicted in various safety adverts.
