The Bajau are an ethnic group scattered throughout southeast Asia that are known for being nomadic seafarers that live off the ocean. They spend hours a day on the ocean using conventional hand methods to fish including spending up to 13 minutes underwater on one breath. This has caused their spleens to evolve to be larger to support their superhuman breath holding.
