I'm Aisha,
I was raised in a home that stressed on a woman's purity & I was told to be a 'good girl'.
No one let me talk about my likes & desires.
Especially those of romantic or sexual ones.
I was told “my body is my future husband's gift,
so, losing my virginity will be like handing them
a used, unwrapped gift.”
I didn't understand this concept, i still don't.
It was & is important for me to understand that my body and my sexuality are a gift to myself before they can be a gift to anyone else.
My sexuality is my expression,
my body is my home, my comfort zone.
It's all I have & where my soul & I hide,
hiding away from this world.
I'm good,
Just me,
This is me,
I'll be okay.
