A reflection on the value of history and the intergenerational passing of knowledge. History is a means of transferring knowledge and in a very direct sense transferring wealth. For people of African descent there's an added barrier in this process because so much of our history has been omitted or distorted from contemporary culture. Trophies is a metaphor for the victory that comes from valuing our history.
