I positioned myself directly in the path of this magnificent storm, and watched it slowly spiral toward me as the sun dipped beneath the horizon in the distance. Lightning flashed all around, and with each flash, it would illuminate this majestic, swirling updraft with its soft lavender hues. Thunder rumbled endlessly. It was magical.
Moments like this are why I travel 10s of thousands of miles across the vast Great Plains of the U.S every single year photographing storms. I am passionately, hopelessly enthralled with atmospheric beauty. This is Mother Nature's canvas, on display for the world to marvel at and admire. I am merely so fortunate to be able to witness and capture it all with my camera.
