The Honu green sea turtles are one of Hawai'i's symbols, so it was only fitting to try and photograph them (from a respecting distance) under the stars. During the day, they graze in the warm, shallow waters. At night, they beach themselves to cool off under the stars.

I took the shot wide open in portrait mode to take advantage of the beautiful bokeh of stars while the turtle is in focus. It was not that easy to get them as they easily move back to the water if disturbed!
