A night rainbow, also known as a lunar rainbow or a moonbow, is a rare natural phenomenon that occurs when the moon's light reflects off water droplets in the air, such as mist, spray or rain. The light is refracted, or bent, by the water droplets, creating a rainbow effect that can be seen at night.

Night rainbows have a fainter and softer appearance compared to the more commonly seen daylight rainbows, and may appear to be white or pale in color. They are most easily seen on nights with a bright, full moon and when the sky is clear of clouds.
