Our imagination serves as our greatest strength, but overzealousness will set us aflame from the inside-out. When Daedalus crafted his son a pair of wings to escape Crete, he vehemently expressed the importance of steering clear of the elements when traversing the skies. Despite his father's warnings, and against his better judgment, Icarus soars into the air, climbing higher and higher as he ferociously swings the pendulum from complacency to pure hubris. With the trichotomy of man on full display, Icarus eventually plunges to his death, calling into question the voracity of human desire. How do we know if we have exceeded the limits of our mind, body and soul before the repercussions are etched in eternity? Whether we are racing towards the light to escape the darkness of our own shadows, or passing through the unknown in search of a brighter future, one thing remains certain...we must never fly too close to the sun.
