Détournement#1 is the first in a series of three artworks inspired by the connections between the Situationist International, Psychogeography, and Sartre. We call these artworks P(Sbt) + I(Srt) ⤖ Détournement#1 ⥅ Détournement#2 ⥅ Détournement#3. Plotter prints (P) of a generative algorithm inspired by Jared Tarbell Substrate (Sbt) are hijacked with
Jean-Paul Sartre words (Srt) from La Nausée , drawn in an image (I) using another generative code.
Then, each image encounters a sequence of digital elaborations (⥅), where each step becomes an independent artwork in a series of three. Détournement#1 is the result of the first elaboration.
