Little young girl
so full of life, so light,
a wisp of beauty, pure and bright.
Her smile, soft as silken thread,
Her grace, like stories often read.

where every step, each gentle sway,
was drawn from dreams of yesterday.

But was it that same gentle glow
that drew the hands as dark as shadow?

Did innocence itself invite
the creeping cold, the grip of night?

those eyes, like blood aflame

so hollow, yet they stared the same.
Why would they fix and never flee?

What did they hope, or dread, to see?

And worse—why were there more than two, those crimson eyes that pierced right through?
