This 30 second long exposure image was taken as the sun rose in Aoraki Mt Cook National Park, New Zealand.
Tasman Lake in New Zealand's South Island has been forming over the last 50 years due to the retreat of the Tasman Glacier, the longest glacier in the heart of the Southern Alps.
On this particular morning, I remember a friend and I running for our lives as we saw the sky turning all shades of pink around us, yet we still had a fair walk ahead to reach the lake. Luckily for us, the sunrise lasted almost an hour and we managed to capture this incredible part of New Zealand in the best light I have ever seen there.
I will always remember this morning fondly .. fresh snow, icebergs frozen in time, and candy coloured sky as far as the eye could see.
