I love Ukrainian literature, and even more I love and know how to visualize everything the author writes about. This is the interpretation of a poem by Taras Shevchenko. All through my childhood, I envisioned it something like this.
It's a verse all Ukrainians know by heart.
("Sadok vyshnevyi kolo khaty")
Old cherry garden near the house
And beetles buzzing in green leaves,
The plowers carrying their plows,
And mothers cooking supper meals.
The family is having supper,
Young girl is serving evening food,
Her mother wants to teach her something,
But nightingale’s song is so good.
The mother put her little children
To sleep in open near the hut,
Soon all calmed down, girls and songbirds
Went on their singing all the night.
