In this piece, I wanted to explore how perception distorts reality—how we often inflate others’ importance, flaws, or presence, treating them as larger-than-life through a metaphorical fish-eye lens. The exaggerated features, the absurdity of the massive fish, and the almost surreal posture of the figures reflect how undeserved significance is sometimes projected onto people who haven’t earned it. We glorify, vilify, or ridicule based on surface impressions, not substance. This work asks: Are we seeing clearly—or are we just caught in a wide-angle illusion?
