From the Kabuki play "Kyôganoko Musume Dojoji", Kiyohime transforms into a giant snake and chases after a monk who has broken his promise to reunite with her and fled. The monk hides behind the temple bell and is burned to death. On the day of the memorial service, the woman appears as a dancing "Hanako," and after a splendid dance, reveals her true nature and transforms into a giant snake again. The background and front are painted with cherry blossoms in full bloom, creating a gorgeous and dramatic setting.
