Years ago, I watched this low-budget movie that somehow stuck with me. It was about someone dreaming of making it to Broadway, and the only way was through endless auditions. I watched it over and over.
Some time later, I found myself in the exact same scenario—number pinned to my chest, paper taped on, facing a panel, going through round after round as people were slowly eliminated. It was surreal.
I think creating art in general feels a lot like that. You’re always auditioning. Sometimes you fit, sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you’re what they’re looking for; sometimes you’re not even close.
There’s this rush—like a sugar shot to the bloodstream adrenaline spiking, heart racing. Half fear, half pure thrill. That’s what creation feels like to me.
This video came out of that place. A little chaotic, a little sweet, definitely fun. Maybe it made the cut, maybe it didn’t but I had a blast making it.
