Suburbs Gallery Solo Highlight Exhibition no 66
Raphaël Ebra is a multidisciplinary creator based in Lyon, France, whose work bridges motion design, illustration, and animation with a deeply personal and poetic touch. Since founding his audiovisual production company Alchimeo in 2006, he has continued to explore the boundaries between client work and independent creation, seamlessly blending direction, animation, performance, and visual effects.
In 2021, Ebra entered the world of digital art and NFTs, quickly making his mark with early releases on Foundation and SuperRare. His work gained international recognition when featured in Sotheby’s "Natively Digital 1.2" auction in October 2021 and later at France’s first NFT auction with FauveParis in March 2022.
Technically intricate and emotionally resonant, Ebra’s animations often take the form of mesmerizing loops. He crafts each piece as a self-contained story—distinct yet connected by recurring themes such as origami, Japanese aesthetics, the passage of time, and the wonder of childhood, the latter often inspired by his daughter.
We are proud to present two animation pieces by this remarkable artist, who has carved out a unique voice in the NFT space by expressing the collective thoughts and experiences of fellow artists through his work. His art invites reflection—and at times, delivers a touch of humor that feels both honest and refreshing.
