Creating a render or two for Halloween every year has been a Digital Blasphemy tradition since the 90s. Sometimes I like to embrace the traditional symbols and create something that can really only be used around the holiday. The very best of them transcend the season and can be used on the desktop throughout the year.

In 2018 I was finally getting good enough with Plant Factory to create my own custom trees for VUE that were exactly the shape I wanted. For this piece I wanted the tree to appear to grasp at the moon as if it were a hand from the grave.

The rest of the scene, including the title, suggested itself to me immediately when I placed the moon and did the first test render. I smiled a huge grin, the closest I'll ever get to the experience my fans receive when they see one of my renders for the first time. I knew this one would be popular.

It was. "Harvest Moon" was voted the #3 all-time rated wallpaper in my entire collection by my Members.
