I woke up one brisk October morning and decided to take the D Train to Coney Island.  In all the times I'd visited my family or worked in New York City I had never been to Coney Island before.

Being the off-season there were no crowds on the boardwalk or the beach, and the few people who were there appeared to be regulars. 

The ever-nostalgic appearance of Coney Island makes these photos timeless, including the denizens who seemed to have time traveled from a bygone era.
