In a temple in the province of Hokinagaro, there is a room for protective hannya masks. The masks, by local legend, have the power to stop demonic possessions from mocking entities that haunt the place for hundreds of millennia, causing all kinds of atrocities and deaths to the residents.

The legend says that the entities are founders of the place who, for tragic reasons, died in the midst of the war that ravaged the province. After that, still according to history, the land perished, the water dried up and a freezing winter hit the lands that were flowery and beautiful before, all so that the victors could never enjoy it after the war.

The temple guardians are responsible for the production, protection and distribution of the masks to all local residents. Whenever someone leaves their home, they must put on their mask to prevent possession and further tragedies.
