THE BRIDGE OF GODS
In Norse mythology Bifröst is a burning rainbow bridge that reaches between Midgard (Earth) and Asgard, the realm of the gods.
The brigde that could only be crossed by gods was guarded by Heimdall.
The Snorra Edda states that a red fire is burning on the bridge to prevent the Hrimthursen (ice giants) and mountain giants from crossing them.
It was believed that a great battle between good & evil did result in the destruction of the gods. During the battle, the Bifröst shattered due to the weight of the monsters.
All the gods & everything on Midgard perished under the sea. However, Midgard rose from the waters being reborn anew.
It is believed that the shape of Milky Way on the dark & clear sky was a symbol of the Bifröst.
