On May 7, 2016, a tornado touched down outside the town of Wray, Colorado, and remained nearly stationary for over 20 minutes causing some damage, but no injuries. During the course of its life it transformed and morphed. This image captures the evolution of the tornado from early wisps of rotating dust on the ground to the massive cone before it dissipated taken from a single vantage point to the north of the tornado (which created backlighting as you see here).
