Ace Hotel, Los Angeles - November 2015 :: It was a year before this photo shoot that Monica and I first met. By now we were establishing a creative rhythm with one another. While out in L.A. for a project she was doing Monica had let me know that she had a room at the famed Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles as well as some available time to shoot. Whenever she and I would get together to create I would always be looking for something for us to do that felt different than what we had done in our sets before. In this case we agreed that the shower stall in her suite should be made useful.

To me when photographing someone I try at times to obtain a moment that transcends an emotion through my camera to the viewer. I want to bring whoever is looking at the photo and pull them into this place that was captured in fractions of second. When Monica had glanced over at my camera and I made this photograph that was the moment I had been looking for during this shoot.
