Manami and Makoto

A robot runs along a footpath between rice fields, and a high school girl straddles him.

The high school girl's name is Manami.
Her parents died in an accident when she was small, and she has been raised by her grandmother and him.

His (the robot) name is Makoto.
He is a robot with emotions created by Dr. Inagaki, a robot researcher who is also Manami's father.

Manami and Makoto are always together when they study or play together.
Makoto is Manami's best friend and family member.

The mission given to Makoto by Dr. Inagaki is to protect Manami.

マナミとマコト

田園が広がる田舎の風景ー。

ガシャコンッ！ガシャコンッ！ガシャコンッ！

畦道を走るロボット、そしてその彼に跨がる女子高生。

女子高生の名は「マナミ」。
小さい時に事故で両親を亡くし、これまで祖母と彼に育てられた。

彼（ロボット）の名は「マコト」。
亡くなったマナミの父親でもあるロボットの研究者「稲垣博士」によって作られた感情を持つロボット。

マナミとマコトは、勉強するときも、遊ぶときもいつも一緒。
マコトはマナミにとって親友でもあり家族なのだ。

そして、博士からマコトに与えられた使命は、「マナミを守ること」だった。
