In Greek mythology, Otrera was the first queen of the Amazons, wife of Ares, daughter of Eurus, and mother of Hippolyta, Antiope, Melanippe, and Penthesilea.
Otrera is considered to be the mythological founder of the temple of Artemis in Ephesus, closely associated with the Amazons.
He is also considered the founder of the Amazon race, despite the many myths about the first Amazons.
