Having severed the tip of his finger, it was reattached and a hard cast covered in purple hearts was applied to protect his hand while healing. He later suffered severe pain because he got MRSA and the cast had to be removed. This is an illustration based on an exhibit of a cell phone image of him displaying his casted middle finger.
