The Gobi Sand Dunes of Mongolia were a challenge to climb. As we raced up those steep slopes, the light quickly moved overhead, daring us to move faster.

The satisfaction of summiting those dunes and watching the last light move swiftly over the sandy waves was worth the hours of stepping forward and sliding backwards.
