Capitu is the main character of the main novel, Dom Casmurro, of the most important Brazilian novelist, Machado de Assis.

She is a powerful woman who is seen in the novel through the eyes of her husband, the narrator. So, who is she really? Can we trust her husband’s depiction of her?

I rather imagine her myself. And that’s what I did while reading the book. So this portrait is my Capitu, the one I see when I read the book.

This portrait, like all in this collection, is made through a technique I’ve created, called “Phone & Fingers Photorealism”. I only use a normal phone, my fingers and a free app to bring these realistic pictures to life.
