When I decided to create this piece in genetic engineering theme, I stopped working on it and started to read about the topic. I needed to train my mind a little bit before I get into the creative phase. It was the moment when I composited two photos I took. I wasn’t intending to create in the concept until that moment honestly. After some reading I tried to reflect some of the sources I ve benefited on the sheets. Sheets were the major factor in the composition makes me feel like there s a renaissance vibe. Wind might be helping too. I manipulated, composited and painted the sheets.
Then I started to create the genetically manipulated subjects of the piece one by one. I used my photography archive to create the subjects. Collaged and painted them to create the ultimate forms.
Human Deer is a deer with a female human body. She s holding some weird organism looking life form in a plate in her hand.
Horse Leg Ostrich Tail Human is a lady with two horse legs and an ostrich looking lower body. She s been cursed (some may say ‘blessed’) with extra radioactive vessels. Also her face glows at nights.
Bee Lady is a huge bee with an upper body of a female human. Still no idea how she flies. The genes in her eyes don’t belong Earth.
Rare Penguin Cat is a rare cat type survived trough time… They have penguin bodies and shapeshifter beaks.
Arachnid Feet Stylized Human is a human type appeared after genetic revolution. Not much functional manipulation on human genes but only stylish purposes. Arachnid feet is a branch of the community. These people use animal genes only in their feet and mostly arachnid genes.
AI Plant is a research creation being tested in public life. Basically plants with some sort of AI implementation.
Organic Inorganic Hybrid is a group of genetically engineered life forms that we see organic compound blended with inorganic compound to create the ultimate form. Researches vary in a large scale in this field. Our subject is a metal-plant hybrid. They re lack of locomotion.
2D Cats are what we have now as a regular cat. Something went wrong and cats ended up as almost dark as a black hole and they look like 2d.
Portuguese Man o War is maybe the only life form kept its form but with a little addition. They changed color, now they re green and they projects a strong light.
Giant Shy is a giant animal contains some zebra, tiger and empath human genes. This kind is extremely shy. They always hide in the shades.
Turtled Humans is a group of people who have been created accidentally. Intention was to create a kind that can generate a shield as it’s needed but It was early years and unexpected results caused the project to be shut down. Unhappiest group in the future.
Cute Devils are creations for a game gone parabolic in the future. Only thing you should know about them, they re not animals, they re not Earthling, they have been created to be smashed in the game. Tho it s not that easy. Their little horns hurt a lot and poisonous. If you can manage to smash one without getting injured, you re earning genetic score which is the money in future.
Midget Dogs are the new religious people on Earth. Since genetic revolution, nobody is caring about the religion anymore. But these midget human bodied dog kind is highly dedicated to create a new religion model for the uncertain future of the civilization.
