Once King Pururavas, and Urvashi, an Apsaras in the heavenly court of Lord Indra, fell in love with each other. Pururavas asked her to become his wife, but she agreed on few conditions.

a. Pururavas would protect Urvashi's pet sheep
b. they would never see one another naked (apart from love making)

Lord Indra started missing Urvashi, and created circumstances where the conditions were broken. His henchmen kidnapped the sheep, and Urvashi scolded Pururavas for not keeping his promise. Pururavas forgot that he was naked and ran after the sheep. Just then, Indra flashed lightings and Urvashi saw her husband naked. Urvashi returned to heaven and left Pururavas heartbroken.
