An iconic moment from the Indian Mythology, Mahabharata, goes like this. After the Pandava brothers were exiled for 12 years, Prince Arjuna spent his time traveling to holy shrines.
On one such travel, he reached Prabhasa, where Lord Krishna resided. Arjuna heard praises about the Princess Subhadra, Lord Krishna & Balarama's sister, who was said to be of incomparable beauty. To his disappointment, Balarama, Lord Krishna’s brother, intended on marrying Subhadra to rival prince Duryodhan.
It was according to Lord Krishna’s plan, Arjuna entered the city in the disguise of a renunciant (sanyasi), and Balaram, who was fond of sages, invited him.
Arjuna was instantly captivated by her! Subhadra on careful inspection noticed the sage to rather have the qualities of a prince, and he seemed a better prospect than the conceited prince Duryodhan. Very soon, their fondness for each other only grew.
My tribute to Raja Ravi Varma immortalizes this iconic moment on the blockchain in 8bit pixels!
