Each piece is imbued with an immaterial, illusory quality that may make you feel you are in a place that's... not quite here. If that's your experience, revel in it!

The concept of 'Away of Being' is also inspired by the idea behind renowned record producer Rick Rubin's book, "The Creative Act: A Way of Being," which emphasizes the importance of creativity as a state of mind and way of existing in the world. In this exhibition, the artists demonstrate that creating art is far from merely an activity, but an honest way of being in the world; a way of seeing and experiencing life that is uniquely their own.

As a curator and collector, this is what I admire most about this group of artists... and really, artists in general.
