Inspired by Toyotama-hime (豊玉姫) or Otohime (乙姫), one of the most important goddesses of Japanese mythology. Presented in Kojiki as well as in Nihon Shoki, she is the daughter of Ryūjin, the god of the sea.
In love with the hunter Hoori, together they gave birth to a son, who gave birth to Jimmu, the first emperor of Japan. The legend tells us, that after the birth, Otohime transformed herself into a dragon or a wani, before flying into the air forever.
