METAGRAPH ANIMATION #19 // This audiovisual work is based on the eponymous vector-based digital drawing created in 2004. This particular piece is notable as one of the few compositions from my Metagraph series incorporating a photographic component. The background of the composition was derived from film photographs of tree branches which were scanned, vectorized and reworked digitally. The original composition was drawn in 2004 in Adobe Illustrator using a Wacom tablet and an Apple iBook. It has been reborn on the blockchain as an animated NFT 19 years later, accompanied by an original bebop-inspired soundscape. This work is informed by a diverse range of sources, including Hard-edge painting, Op Art, and the automatic drawings of the Surrealists.
