Greenland is beautiful story from one of my favourites places on EARTH “LANGZA VILLAGE”. Yes, A very small village located in SPITI VALLEY
at 4420m. I have been visiting this place since 2011 and been there many times. I love the whole valley with so much nature, beauty and few families living there. It’s called “ LITTLE TIBET” of INDIA, some of the families came from tibet to find the refuge in the middle of it in 1960’s. I believe this place deserve a lot of love and attention and one must visit once in his/her lifetime.

I clicked this image during my expedition to SPITI. I went up on the top of the hill and waited for the sunset. I loved the whole scenery and composition of green valley with some houses in the middle of it. That’s why I call this piece “ GREENLAND” because I felt like I was on some green planet. I waited for the sunset while sitting down on the top of the hill. Suddenly, I realised that as sun was going down, the rays were coming from the other side of the mountain. It lit the whole green valley shining like a diamond and so colourful. I wanted to capture that moment of light, shadows and beauty.

I took my camera and tried few shots but I wasn’t happy with the results so waited few more minutes. As sun was going down the whole color temperature was changing also very quickly. After, few shots and minutes I got what I was looking for. I never saw this valley like this before, so much bright and colourful and shining like diamond with natural light. It was one of the most sublime moments of the expedition and Life also.

It imprinted on me so badly that every time I see this photo it teleports me to the same place. But, not only just clicking the photo makes it perfect, I worked weeks and went into a long process of editing to make it more stronger, beautiful and natural. It wasn’t easy to replicate what my eyes saw on that very moment. So, I decided not to hurry and re-edit it and took my time before my heart would approve it.

I think the purpose of JPEGS when it not just to bring the story or beauty close to you but also to teleport it's viewers to the same exact place. That’s the power of JPEG, when it allows its viewers to feel the exact moment like they are in it. With this JPEG my wish is the same that I would like to tele-port all of u you to this beautiful valley, to make you feel the exact moment of nature, beauty and warmth of it.
