Nine Drops

There is a Mayan tradition that says that there are small elf-like creatures that protect the land and the possessions of the Maya...These mythical creatures are created by high priests and Shaman with the silt and clay from the cenotes and caves.

They then mould a figurine, mixing it with honey, flowers and “nine drops” of blood from the owner.

This magical being had to be left in darkness for nine nights in order to complete the creation process.
