This collage was inspired in the Gaia theory, also known as the “Gaia hypothesis”, a scientific hypothesis that suggests that the Earth is a self-regulating system.

It proposes that the Earth's living organisms and inanimate elements, such as rocks, air, and water, interact with one another to create a complex and interdependent system that can regulate and maintain the conditions necessary for life.

The theory is named after the Greek goddess of the Earth, Gaia.

According to the theory, the Earth's living organisms are not just passive inhabitants of the planet, but active participants in shaping its environment. Organisms, through their interactions with the environment, can affect the composition of the atmosphere, the temperature of the planet, and the availability of resources.

For example, the production of oxygen by photosynthetic organisms, such as plants and algae, has played a critical role in maintaining the Earth's atmospheric composition.
