Kauai’s Ke’e Beach is my favorite spot for chasing waves. The power of the waves colliding with the cliffs bounces back into the next set of incoming waves, creating these amazing, glassy fans.

As a photographer, I have been drawn to this beach for years chasing these collisions and trying to capture that singular moment of time. This image is the truly classic fan wave, with a shape that almost resembles a sea shell.
