I created this image during my time in Palestine and Israel. The artwork on the wall separating Jerusalem and Ramallah has some stunning imagery that still resonates deeply, even all these years later. As we face the deep separations in our own country, viewing the images of war and divisiveness takes on a new meaning. I only hope we're able to avoid the conflict that I feel brewing below the surface of this great American experiment.
This is the first image in a collection called Unraveling, which will go to support my work documenting dissent. In particular, the sales from this image will fund my coverage of the Women's March on July 9th in Washington DC in response to the recent reversal of Roe v Wade and the loss of my human rights. I can not sit by and do nothing, so I will document the unraveling of my country.
