Between Us.
This work presents a contrast between innocence and menace. Two almost identical figures, pale and muted, stand side by side, filled with a silent sadness. Their faces are dejected, their expressions charged with unease, resignation, and muted resentment. Rendered in soft shades of yellow and orange, their radiance seems fragile, like candlelight flickering in the darkness.
Behind them looms a darker presence: a grotesque figure with crimson horns and a mouth stretched into a wide, predatory grin, its white teeth standing out against the shadows of its silhouette. Its eyes, narrowed and cunning, radiate malice, as if feeding on the vulnerability of the two figures it eclipses.
The triangular composition, two fragile figures below and a monstrous grin above, traps the viewer between compassion for the innocent and fascination with the darkness encroaching upon them.
