This schoolhouse was built in 1905, and would eventually close down in the 1940’s. After a couple devastating fires, locals decided to abandon after deciding not to rebuild. In 1909, Govan, Washington's population was 114 residents. Today the town has a population of 3.

Govan was also a place with several unsolved murders. In 1902 Judge J. A. Lewis and his wife were brutally murdered. Judge Lewis was killed by an axe and his wife was drug around by the barn and beaten to death. The judge was known for keeping large sums of cash in his home.

I couldn't help but to feel like a spirit was watching me the whole time. It felt very haunted and disturbing. Will never step foot here again as I felt unwanted.
